Day #1 Sin-Pkk-Icn

In-flight announcement: "The temperature in Beijing is -1 degrees" zzommmggg
i wore a tshirt and a pair of jeans thinking there is a walkway straight to the airport but guess what, like budget airline, need to climb stairs down. i was trembling as if i was competing with a 99-yr-old parkison-stricken old man. it was not long before it started to snow.
Cup of toffee nut latte to stop the shivering from the cold-shock. My flight from Beijing to Seoul was delayed due to frozen wings and bad weather i think. Cause when i sat in the plane looking out of the window, i saw a crane spraying water on the plane wing to melt the coat of ice... after 1 hr in a stationary plane, finally took off...
Arrival at Incheon Int'l Airport!
Typical view of my train ride to Hongik University where my hostel is
Much worse than i imagine it to be. budget till like that? haha. but at least it was easy to find and near the train station
Panorama view of my room. if i open my luggage, i hardly have any space to move around... during winter, my "aircon" is the window; open big big = cold; close tight tight = not so cold?
OMG. SHOCKING CAN? After i bathed and tried to dry the towel that they provided me with, i saw this wordings on it. DID I JUST USED SOME SINGAPOREAN'S Left-behind-towel?!?!
RICE CAKE <3 the first thing i ate in korea.
everything in the stall looks so yummy-licious can?! can?!
no wonder the oden's broth tastes so sweet --> flower crabs
First stop, Uniqlo to check out some winter socks. but there was nothing much there. ended up walking around Hongik Univeristy area
In the shopping mall, when i look out of the window, i thought i saw a naked lady suntanning lol
that colour car is actually an ad for GAP apparel. the car is covered with knitted wool
下酒菜that was available with all sorts of pattern and combination at a "pub"
remembered someone saying 'hello kitty has no mouth because she speaks from her heart' damn lame i know lol
bought the book (One Day) in Changi Airport and tried to read it while drinking coffee to pass time waiting for the rice cake to digest... This coffeehouse was constantly filmed in a korean drama 强力班 by Song Ji Hyo so i just had to try it haha.
The coffees in Beijing and here didn't have any caffine effect on me and so i decided to go back to the hostel to sleep at 6pm. had a power nap till 8pm and went back to the shopping area to hunt for BBQ intestine!
the weather --- 1 degree celsius
Side dishes for my bbq cow intestines and heart (bip bop bip bop!!)
Clockwise starting from bottom left corner: fermented radish, shredded egg, "coleslaw", cold seaweed soup (didnt try at all), seasoned spring onions (surprisingly i finished it), and 2 condiments
the shopowner said a lot of stuff in korean. didnt understand what he was talking about until he brought me the bill. he meant that minimum is 2 pax serving. no wonder i couldnt finish the last few pieces of intestines...

my jaw was so sore after chewing on the intestines. and it didnt help that i was eating slowly because the heat made the intestine jhun jhun (hokkien for "like rubber feeling")
after eating for 10 mins, the auntie in charge of washing dish came and said shes from china... then offered me veggies to wrap the intestines and heart. too bad she didnt explain that i was eating for 2 earlier on... this meal costs ~$40.... omg...
my jaw was so sore i had to relieve it with something cold (apart from the chilling breeze). Melona!! tried once in singapore and it was UBER nice... only $1!!
taken with lemecam (iPhone app)
walked past this waffle shop and i just couldnt resist: "Auntie, one please"
ok i didnt call her auntie and i didnt say anything. i just showed her my index finger.
There's a shop in Hongik Univ that sells the hat that Ji Hyo was wearing in Running Man! But it's damn exp can? one for $70
Almost every roadside vendor has someone chewing on rice cake and other stuff
Found this petrol station to be interesting - the pump is hanging from the ceiling. i doubt i can reach it. i wonder what kind of vehicle can use this...

have to walk this long stretch before reaching my hostel
morbit me self-cam-whoring.
Well, that concludes my first day traveling alone :) didnt take the metro to anywhere else cause i was soooo tired from the flights... didnt manage to sleep well on the flight... AirChina... sigh... Chinaman #1 on my left raised his voice at Chinaman #2 on my right because he took 2 of the same copies of a newspaper. Then they buay song each other and i just had to sit between them...
I have a personal tour guide tmr!! hope he likes the bah kwa i bought for him haha. had to smuggle to korea cause livestock products are not allowed lol.
Off to bed~ oh wait, i'm already on it :)
